Tuesday 23rd February – Sunday 28th February 2016

Private View: Tuesday 23rd February 6-9pm

Opening Times: Tue-Sat 11am-7pm, Sun 11am-4pm, Free entry

Location: The Gallery, Craft Central, 33-35 St John’s Square, London, EC1M 4DS

Artist Damien Borowik makes handcrafted machines and uses them as creative tools to draw. In an iterative process, the artist continuously develops the digital and mechanical abilities of the machines, considering both the aesthetics and the performativity in the resulting artwork.

With a strong emphasis in using unpredictability and chance in his work, Borowik explores the aleatoric mark-making qualities of the machines through automation and mediation. Currently, he controls the machines to draw straight lines and create abstract Expanding Squares and deconstruct landscapes and cityscapes.

You can view drawing machine in action from the link below:

Both machines and drawing will be on display.
